Alright, I have to admit that I really don't like graphic novels. I don't see the appeal to them at all. However, I do keep trying. I have finally found a decent one that I can recommend to others...Coraline by Neil Gaiman. The story was pretty good and the illustrations were decent and represented the story well. So, go ahead and give it a read!
This being said about graphic novels, the department is fortunate to have Jen and Katie who love graphic novels and can give you lots of good recommendations.
