Have you ever tried listening to a book?

I listen to a lot of audiobooks.  This is a relatively new phenomena for me as I was generally against the idea of audiobooks.  My commute to work is long enough that I needed something other than the radio.  I decided to listen to an audiobook and noticed that I was not as stressed when I was driving.  I can also get a lot of books read this way too :)

Right now I am listening to Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.  It is so hard to turn off the CD when I arrive at work.  I actually hope for traffic.

Other great audiobooks are:  The City of Bones, Gregor the Overlander, The Book Thief and Airborn.

Hippity Hop today

Our baby lapsit program is called Hippity Hop.  One of the songs we are singing today is Sing a Song of Sixpence.  Here are the lyrics:

Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,

Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.

When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,

Oh wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king?

The king was in his counting house counting out his money,

The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey

The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,

When down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose!

Do you like Cartooning???

If you answered yes, then come to the library on Sunday.  We have a cartoon/trading card workshop going on.  Sheltoons is coming in to teach kids on how to do some basic cartooning on trading cards.  The program costs $5.00.  Call the library for more information :)

Witch and Wizard

James Patterson has a new book out - Witch and Wizard.  I am a big James Patterson fan but lately have been getting a little tired of his books.  When I read an except of this book in another one of his books, I did not think that I would like it.  I was even hesitate to read it when I got it at the library.  However, I am glad that I did take the time to read it.  I enjoyed it very much ... not as much as the Max series but it is a close second in his YA writing.  If you are into fantasy and lots of action, I highly recommend that you read this book.
Wisty and Wilt have been arrested for being a witch and a wizard.  They, however, are unaware of their powers as their parents kept it hidden from them.  They are tried and sent for execution when they fully discover their powers.  Wisty and Wilt meet up with others who are escaping the New Order and plan breakouts for others like them.  It is their prophecy to become the leaders of the world.  Will they?  They also have to find their parents who have disappeared.  This is obviously the first of many books to come.
Enjoy!
