Winter Reading club comes to a close

I would like to congratulate all the participants in the winter reading club. We had 50 participants for the first annual winter edition. Our top winners put a lot of reading time. Thanks to everyone for their participation!!

Spring Break Activities

We have a great program coming up in March. Magician Mike Deslauriers will be coming to the library to perform magic show for us. Buy your tickets early...you don't want to miss this show!

New DVDs

We have lots of new DVDs in the Department. Do you have any suggestions for other titles (remember, they must be rated G in the Children's department)? Let us know either by email or by phone.

Newbery Award Winner announced

The Newbery Award Winner for 2009 is "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman. To best illustrate what this book is about, this quote from Mr. Gaiman is most appropriate:

“The boundaries are always there—between the graveyard and the world beyond,

Books and Boys

Hey boys! I want to hear from you what your favourite books are. Have you read the Maze of Bones yet by Rick Riordan? It is a new cool series, with cool features. Come and look at the playing cards and try to solve the clues by going on the website.

Korman mania

I get really obsessive about authors and must read everything that they have written. My new craze is Gordon Korman. I am currently reading Juvie three which is an excellent book. Be warned though...it is not the traditional humour we are used to with Korman. Last week I finished Son of a mob. Anyone wanting a good laugh must read this book!
