We had our closing ceremonies yesterday. Congrats to all the kids who read throughout the summer. A total of 2029 books were read!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

So, I saw the movie last week and it was pretty good. I would say that it was a nice companion to the book but the book was by far much better. I spoke to a few people who had not read the book and they were confused at times in the movie. We had quite a few copies of the book at the library, so come and read what you missed out on or just re-read the story for fun!

Harry comes out today!!!!

I am so excited to see the latest installment of the Harry Potter series - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I don't know quite how they are going to pull it off as the book is mainly about accessing memories. It should be interesting! Let me know what you think too!!!! This week we are displaying wolves. All kinds of wolves, including werewolves. Come and see what we have!

Graphic Novels

Alright, I have to admit that I really don't like graphic novels. I don't see the appeal to them at all. However, I do keep trying. I have finally found a decent one that I can recommend to others...Coraline by Neil Gaiman. The story was pretty good and the illustrations were decent and represented the story well. So, go ahead and give it a read!

This being said about graphic novels, the department is fortunate to have Jen and Katie who love graphic novels and can give you lots of good recommendations.

Rain Rain Go Away

We had such nice weather last week and now it is raining. Hopefuly it won't keep up because the library has storytime at Shuster Park on Sundays at 3:30.
